Nostalgia Collection

During our 3-year US Air Force tour in Germany, our German landlords and neighbors introduced us to German culture. We love these families!

When we reflect back on our memories, we feel a sense of nostalgia. Hence, the name of this collection.

Pull the slider to the left and right to see 5 of our family’s photo memories below portrayed now in cookie form.

garden germanygarden springerle cookie
Left: our German backyard (called a garden in Germany) — A fairy-tale experience for sure.
The beauty of this garden is a result of decades of work by the homeowners.

germany cathedral
Left: we visited many cathedrals, castles, and other beautiful buildings in Europe.

german cows
Left: one of our favorite memories was going to a “coming home of the cows” event.
The cows are brought back down to the village from summer grazing in the high mountains during a community parade in the fall.

german apple harvest
Left: Harvesting apples in our garden with our landlords.

alps
Left: When family members visited, we enjoyed the Swiss Alps.

german rose
Left: a rose in our garden after the rain. In the spring we read The Secret Garden with the children.
A favorite line in that book is, “Where you tend a rose, my lad, a thistle cannot grow.”
